Brooklands Strategic

The Brooklands Strategic team has a clear focus on projects that have an external influence on the strategy, structure and processes within an organisation, i.e. they are market and customer driven.

Historically strategy has been about planning, visioning, mission statements and forecasting.  In our view, in the current business climate, it is much more concerned with the match between a company’s internal capabilities and its external environment. It is a set of techniques to understand and influence that company’s position in its current and potential marketplace.

Hence, the strategic process must first look inward, identify the distinctive capabilities (competitive advantage), and surround these with the appropriate structure and processes that enable the company to sell its distinctive capabilities in the market in which it operates.

The processes of strategy formulation and implementation are therefore, in our view, bound together in equal measure, in the circle of strategy, structure and process.

Importantly, this process should be carried out in the language of the customer; only in this way can the outcome truly reflect the needs of the marketplace and its constituent sectors.
