Etihad appoint new business strategy leader

  • United Arab Emirates airline Etihad is hoping that the appointment of a new head of business strategy development in its IT department will take the company to the next level.

    The airline wants Khawla Salem Al Badi, who has more than 15 years experience with international companies, to revolutionize pricing, flight operations, crew planning, business intelligence and inflight catering with a new IT business strategy.

    Speaking via the Etihad website, James Hogan, the airline’s chief executive officer, said: “I am delighted to welcome Khawla to this position and to our airline.

    “Khawla brings a vast amount of experience and expertise to the role, which will benefit both the information technology area and our airline as a whole.

    Al Badi has a masters degree in business and management and a bachelors degree in computer sciences.

    She has also been responsible for implementing IT business strategies in the UAE, Switzerland, Britain as well as Germany and has joined Etihad Airways after leaving her role as assistant vice president of treasury and capital market business development at Mashreq Bank.
