Process Improvement
Business effectiveness is driven by process effectiveness, so we look to analyse, simplify & implement end-to-end process improvements. Our proven approaches are characterised by lean based thinking, ensuring that the appropriate tool and technique is applied, to deliver outstanding results for our clients. Process design Our work in process re-engineering aims to ensure that the ‘foot print’ for the organisation is correct. We achieve this using a range of practical process mapping and analysis tools, focused on the target performance requirements, combined with best practice thinking in organisation design. Our innovative process design work has provided our clients with solutions that have created step changes in flexibility, agility and cost effectiveness. We are not an IT consultancy, so our objective approaches have delivered a range of solutions i.e. In-house methodology based improvement, IT & technology, off-shoring and outsourcing.
Lean Lean thinking is not exclusively restricted to manufacturing and Brooklands has transferred these principles into non-manufacturing organisations to deliver major performance improvements. Financial services, passenger transport, distribution and food are among the sectors where our consultants have already successfully implemented lean thinking, so that they are now core principles in the DNA of these organisations. Although lean is often described as a toolkit; 5s, JIT, SMED, etc which will, in the right circumstances, provide benefits in an established lean environment, it is critical, where lean has no foundation in an organisation, that a holistic solution is developed. In our approach to lean, our methodologies build on 3 pillars; structure, process & culture, which will determine the most appropriate route for the lean journey. Lean has no end, but understanding the start point is essential for us, in shaping with our clients, what is often a significant change transformation. Our clients use us because they don’t want lengthy reports, but expect our consultants to transfer knowledge and expertise to equip and energise their staff for the on-going lean journey. The team at Brooklands therefore combines not only the practical operating experience of lean, but also the key differentiator, which is the capability to structure from a ‘brown field’ start point, lean programmes that combine the pillars of structure, process & culture to deliver business results that stand out from the competition.
